Hey Rocket City thanks for tuning in for the Volkswagen GTI Video…This Video took a while to do!

I wanted to do Justice for the Custom GTI Built by my boy Francisco.

We endured nearly 4 hours of Photo and Video work on a Hot Summers Day in Guntersville Alabama.

In this Video we cover the GTI History and the Story and Specs of this Custom VW GTI!

HISTORY OF THE GTI:

The Volkswagen Golf GTI was first launched in the U.S. in 1974, and was an instant success.

The GTI stands for Grand Touring Injection, which is Volkswagen's term for its direct fuel injection system
The GTI made its debut at the Frankfurt International Motor Show in September 1975
4 years before In the City I was born In!

The GOLF was intended as a replacement for the VW Beetle

The GTI had a four-speed gearbox and a 1.6 liter 8 Vavle fuel-injected four-cylinder engine, making 110 hp and 103 lb ft TRQ powering a car weighing close to 1800lbs!

Peformance numbers were 0 to 60 mph in between 8.8 to 9.1 seconds, with a top speed of 113mph!

The GTI was the first hot hatchback

It was called the Rabbit because it was small and nimble and meant to sell to younger buyers.

VW's plan was to sell 5,000 GTI's but instead it sold 462,000 units sold.

Over the years the GTI got heavier and more powerful diluting the original MK1 receipe of Fun and Light motoring.

The GTI is still considered to be an excellent, all around sports car, that is efficient and fun to drive!

ABOUT FRANCISCO and HIS CAR:

Francisco is a Fan of all Cars but especially VW’s . He has another Golf as his Daily Driver.
Francisco loves Cars and in his free time he enjoys turning wrenches and working on his projects.

He bought this car a Year and a half ago…
It took Francisco 8 months to build this GTI and he Impressively did all the Work Himself!
He loves this Car because of the power, of its fun to drive nature, and his GTI Build Turns a lot of heads!

When asked about future projects, he says he has more projects but wants to show me in person first!

It did figure things and blew itself up
The plan is to buy an engine, strengthen it, and then Tune it!
