I've always been curious as to how many engines from the English Isle have visited the vast United States, so here is a little compilation of the! First is the very first engine to grace the US: Stourbridge Lion (a working replica seen at the New York World's Fair of 1939). Then we have John Bull which we modified from Stephenson's 0-4-0 to a 4-2-0 with large chimney, headlamp and pilot/cowcatcher. Then is King George V seen at the Baltimore and Ohio's Centennial celebration. Then is The Royal Scot on her visit to the Chicago World's Fair of '33 then "Coronation" and the New York World's Fair of '39, then a replica of Stephenson's Rocket seen at the Chicago Railroad Fair and then, finally, a few scenes from Flying Scotsman's US tour (note the three whistles she utilized: a single note when she was in the East, a chime when she was in the West and all-the-while still had her LNER whistle). Hope you enjoy!
