A Biblical Rhythm for Spiritual Growth

As one year ends and a new one begins, many of us either rush ahead without reflection—or get stuck looking back. Scripture invites us to do neither. In this powerful message, Review & Renew, we explore God’s design for spiritual growth: honestly reviewing our lives and faithfully renewing our vision in Christ.

Rooted in passages like 2 Corinthians 13:5, Lamentations 3:40, Acts 3:19–20, and Romans 12:2, this sermon unpacks why self-examination is not about shame or self-congratulation, but about truth, humility, and grace. God does not waste seasons. Every victory, failure, delay, and struggle can become a tool for transformation when surrendered to Him.

From there, we move toward renewal—letting go of past failures and past successes to embrace a renewed mindset and a fresh work of God. Renewal is not a feeling; it’s a decision. As the Apostle Paul reminds us in Philippians 3:13–14, we forget what is behind and press forward toward what God is calling us to next.

This episode also leads us to communion, anchoring our hope in the gospel promise of 2 Corinthians 5:17–19: because of Jesus, our past is redeemed, our present is purposeful, and our future is hopeful.
