Jardim Aquarius is the name popularly used to designate the Parque Residencial Aquarius neighborhood of São José dos Campos, in Vale do Paraíba, located in the interior of São Paulo, in addition to small subdivisions around or within the limits of the neighborhood (including Jardim Aquarius, Bosque Imperial, Jardim Altos do Esplanada, Jardim Cassiano Ricardo, Royal Park).

Jardim Aquarius is considered a high standard neighborhood, formed mainly by commercial and residential buildings and some closed condominiums of houses, it is the most vertical neighborhood in the city and also one of the newest in the municipality.

Despite being an upscale neighborhood, the growth and excess of verticalization made the neighborhood the focus of criticism from residents, architects and urban planners, being considered a bad example of urban planning. Among the problems caused by the number and proximity of buildings are the loss of privacy of residents, the formation of wind corridors, and the saturation of traffic on the streets of the neighborhood.

The New Zoning Law - LC 428/10, enacted in 2010, established rules for the construction of buildings, including minimum spacing and height limits. However, there is strong pressure from the civil construction sector for these rules to be relaxed. In September 2012, the neighborhood had 101 buildings, with another 21 under construction.
