An unusual view of the PS Waverleys engines not normally seen by her passengers. This short clip was taken by one of the ER crew members as the Waverley headed home up the river Clyde to Glasgow for the last time in 2011. The regulating valve was open as far as it would go which is 8 past the E.
Triple expansion steam engine, 2,100 indicated horse power (1,566kW) built by Rankin & Blackmore, Eagle Foundry, Greenock 1946. Cylinders, 24″, 39″ and 62″, Length of Stroke 66". Engine number 520.
