What is hope? Hope is more than positive thinking or probability. It is a God-given desire for the future you trust Him for, every good promise God has spoken over your life, and ultimately Christ Himself (Colossians 1:27). When something has failed you, stop putting your trust in it. Our confidence must be rooted in God, our Rock (Psalm 62:5).

Where not to place your hope:

Your heart (it changes)
Your abilities (they are limited)
Your knowledge (it is incomplete)

Four foundations of hope:

1. Justification through faith. Receiving Jesus removes condemnation and gives us a new identity (Psalm 33:2).
2. Peace with God. Peace silences guilt and fuels hope.
3. Access to His grace. Through the Holy Spirit we stand in God’s grace, the place where hope grows.
4. Christ Himself, our ultimate and eternal hope.

Suffering (Romans 5:3)
Perseverance (Psalm 27:14)
Character
Hope (Psalm 39:7)
