Nichiha, manufacturer of innovative fiber cement architectural wall panels, is helping architects everywhere build better with the new suite of Nichiha BIM tools. Built from the ground up to integrate seamlessly with your BIM projects, it’s now easier than ever to design with performance fiber cement siding within Revit.
Nichiha engineers each of its products for superior performance and durability. With an integrated rainscreen system, an advanced installation system, and ultra-low-maintenance design, Nichiha allows you to craft a performance exterior that’s as resilient as it is beautiful. Plus, with an expansive array of textures, finishes and colors, Nichiha architectural wall panels are perfectly suited to bring even the boldest design visions to life.
We’ve partnered with BIMsmith to make it easier to design with Nichiha products in Revit. You can use BIMsmith Market to research individual products from Nichiha and then download for your project, along with product literature such as specifications, cut sheets, and more.
You can also use BIMsmith Forge to configure your own Revit wall assemblies with Nichiha products. With Forge, you can either design with pre-built systems from the menu on the left, or create your own wall systems layer by layer, choosing Nichiha for your fiber cement cladding or manufactured cast stone. Browse through the material selection pane to select the perfect color or texture for your system, then choose the remainder of the layers you want to include. When you’re ready, click Build to finalize the system. With Forge, you can customize your download to include specific file types, product specifications, cut sheets, and any other product data you might need, making your job easier than ever.
It’s easy to apply Nichiha materials in your Revit projects.
Once you download an assembly from BIMsmith Forge, double click on a view to activate it, then select the assembly. Copy and paste to your own project. From here, you can either create a new wall or use “Match Properties” to replace an existing one. Once placed in the project, your wall material takeoff will automatically reflect the new material with its corresponding assembly information specific to Nichiha.
If you downloaded materials from the Nichiha product library on BIMsmith Market, double click on the swatch array view and select the material swatch you want. Next, copy and paste the swatch family into your project. Now you can modify the wall assembly layers of your existing system family types to use the new material.
Nichiha products are perfect for all kinds of projects. Commercially, over 12 million square feet of Nichiha products are installed across 4,000 commercial projects each year. Residentially, Nichiha can be found in over 17,000 homes, spanning both traditional and modern design – and everything in between.
With the new Nichiha suite of BIM tools, you can start leveraging the design, performance, and reliability of Nichiha products within Revit immediately.
