Kindly use proper audio equipment to listen to this recording. Headphones/earphones are preferred over mobile phone speakers. Please also note that this piano is meticulously prepared and tuned in the way Chopin's tuners would have tuned it for him (historical tuning) and is very different from what we hear today.
This piano is one of only four pianos in the world which was played by Chopin himself and is still playable. This A.D.1847 Pleyel ‘Petit Patron’ model bearing serial 13816 makes part of Nikolai Vuković's piano collection and is the last piano which Chopin sent to Nohant, France (his partner George Sand's summer residence) with the intention of using it himself to compose upon after playing it, selecting it, and taking responsibility of it. Chopin sent it to Nohant around June /July of 1847 but he and his partner broke up exactly after that and he did not follow it, never to play it again. My comments refer to the study by Chopin researcher Prof Alain Kohler who puts evidence that the Pleyel piano n ° 13816 was in all likelihood played by Chopin and documented on: http://www.musicologie.org/15/les_pia...
