Aswan, Egypt: A Walking Tour of the Nubian Village

Описание: In this video, I take a walk through a Nubian Village in Aswan, Egypt. There are many Nubian villages but this one is probably the most popular because it's close to Aswan and easy to access.

The Nubians are a group of people who originated in Sudan. During antiquity, they settled in southern Egypt. They have their own language and culture. There are around 3-4 million Nubians living in Egypt today.

I took the train from Luxor to Aswan. In Aswan, I booked a day tour around Aswan through my hotel. I wasn't originally going to take a tour but it was cheaper than going sightseeing by myself. The Nubian village was one of the stops on the tour. We traveled to the village by road but you can also take a boat from Aswan.

I stayed in a budget hotel for about $10 per night. I enjoyed my time in Aswan. There are some incredible ancient Egyptian sites nearby.

The Nubian village is an interesting place to visit. There are brightly colored buildings and some great views of the Nile. The village is very touristy though. It's mostly just an open-air market. There are a couple of restaurants and shops where you can stop for tea.

If you're taking a Nile cruise, Aswan is likely where you will start or end the cruise. You'll see cruise boats lined up all along the river here. They are constantly coming and going.

I would say Aswan is a must visit if you're in Egypt. The Nubian village was just okay. The problem is that the sales people are too pushy. This is a problem all over Egypt. I didn't buy anything because I found them to be too annoying.
