Since Sunday, state offices across Nevada were impacted by what was initially called a “security incident,” causing many state agencies, including the Nevada DMV, to close.
During a news conference on Wednesday, Chief Information Officer and Executive Director of the Governor’s Technology Office, Timothy Galluzi, confirmed that late Sunday night, they learned that the State of Nevada had become the victim of a “sophisticated” ransomware-based cybersecurity attack.
