Описание: A subject of historical research must have its proper space and time. Historians often limit their research to the territories of today's states and use a simple chronology of centuries. This approach is always false for military history since there are at minimum two opponents for any war, while the wars rarely suit the timeline of centuries or historical epochs. The false approach produces the studies of war with only a one-sided perspective with a defective and placating depiction of the adversary. The Russo-Ottoman Wars from the 17th to 19th centuries are an example of how research on a military conflict based on the materials of one side produces underdog history. It is evident that they need the comparative study of Russia and the Ottoman Empire. It means that the study requires focus and clear criteria for comparison.
