Subject: Guidelines for Admission in class 9th all stream and class 11th against the vacant seats, in the Schools of Specialised Excellence affiliated with the Delhi Board of School Education (DBSE) - for the forthcoming academic Session 2025-26.

The Government of NCT of Delhi established Schools of Specialised Excellence (SoSE) in 2021. These schools have been envisioned in alignment with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 to provide students with deep interest and aptitude in a particular domain, an opportunity to pursue specialised learning from the secondary stage (Classes IX
1. Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM),

11. Humanities,

Performing and Visual Arts,

IV. High-end 21 Century Skills,

V. Armed Forces Preparatory Schools (AFPS), and

VI. Delhi Model Virtual School (DMVS).

SoSEs are affiliated to Delhi Board of School Education (DBSE). Admissions will be offered in class 9th in all the schools through aptitude test and thereafter a specialisation-specific round (as applicable), based on merit list.
Admissions open for class 9th in all 37 Schools and for class 11th against the vacant seats only in the Schools of Specialised Excellence for the academic session 2025-26.

The operational guidelines for admission and other relevant details are as follows:

1. To ensure a streamlined selection process, two common aptitude tests will be conducted.

a. Round 1:

Aptitude Test 1: For STEM and Armed Forces Preparatory Schools (AFPS), focusing on logical reasoning, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Aptitude Test 2: For Performing & Visual Arts (PVA), Humanities, High-End 21st Century Skills (HE-21) and DMVS, emphasizing creativity, critical thinking, communication, and interdisciplinary competencies.

b. Round 11:

After qualifying round-l, there will be round -Il test as applicable in their respective specialisations.

2. The online application form shall be available from 24th December, 2024 to 30th January, 2025 at http://www.edudel.nic.in/sose

3. Admissions shall be offered in class 9th in all six types of SoSEs and in class 11th against the vacant seats of SoSES.

4. Students studying in any Government, Government Aided or recognized schools of Delhi and are residents of Delhi are eligible to apply for admission (having a valid residence proof).

5. At least 50% seats in each SoSE will be filled from students of Government or Government aided schools of Delhi and remaining seats will be available for students studying in any recognized schools of Delhi,

6. Age-related eligibility for admission is as per norms of the Directorate of Education, Government of Delhi.

7. The online application form for the Delhi Model Virtual School (DMVS) shall be available from 24th December, 2024 to 30th January, 2025 at http://www.dmvs.ac.in

8. Reservation criteria for admission in SoSEs is-
