E6 blocked by landslide

Описание: On 30 August 2025, a massive quick-clay landslide struck near Nesvatnet in Levanger, causing large sections of both the new and old E6 highway and part of the Nordlandsbanen railway line to collapse. One Danish construction worker was caught in the slide and is dead, while another person was rescued and hospitalized. The landslide has created major transport disruption, splitting Norway’s main north–south road corridor, with traffic being rerouted via Sweden or with long detours and ferry crossings. The authorities are currently working on a temporary reopening of the E6, which is likely months away, and special exceptions have been made to driving and rest time regulations for transport.
