Описание: In 1995 The Jericho Tavern, an icon of Oxford live music, closed its doors on a scene that had spawned Ride, Radiohead, Supergrass and many more. It was also the place where, for three quid, you got to see the likes of Pulp, Primal Scream, and Inspiral Carpets, always with a local support - The Tav always paid it forwards to the local bands. Anyone who was there knows just how important The Tav was for Oxford musicians and fans alike. The end of this era was ushered in by a corporate blandness that insisted that live music should play second fiddle to jello shots and brand consistency. And so it was defined, as the Firkin group, followed by the It's a Scream concept, sucked the soul out of the place. Before that happened though, on a raucous January evening in 1995 The Tav was celebrated in all its glorious irreverence with a sweaty night of everything that made the place great. Arthur Turner's Lovechild? opened the night, followed by a sprightly set by a youthful Supergrass, and here is The Candyskins finishing off. Includes a rendition of I Believe in Miracles, and some 'smashing' axe action from Mark to put a full stop on the night.
