Sosúa and Cabarete are two popular beach towns on the north coast of the Dominican Republic, but they offer different vibes and attractions. Sosúa is known for its beautiful bay, calm waters, and rich history, especially its Jewish heritage. It’s a bit more developed, with a lively nightlife scene and a mix of expats and locals. Cabarete, on the other hand, is famous for its water sports, especially kiteboarding and windsurfing, thanks to consistent winds and a laid-back, youthful atmosphere. It has a more bohemian feel, with beachfront bars, surf shops, and a strong backpacker presence.
