The Bible has an amazing ability to communicate an incredible amount of information in just a few words. Take a look at these two lists.
A wise person
• Says things that are worth saying about topics that are worth considering.
• Steers people toward a morally and ethically right path
• Tells the truth and gets the facts right
• Speaks clearly and in such a way that an attentive listener can understand
• Helps others obtain helpful knowledge
• Puts more effort into gaining wisdom than wealth or power
• Can figure out how to resolve a difficult situation
• Is discrete with sensitive information and people
• Takes care with other people’s emotions and needs
• Understands situations and gives sound advice about them
A foolish person
• Utterly rejects behavior that is contrary to God’s character
• Intentionally deceives or misleads others
• Deliberately behaves in ways considered unacceptable
• Enables or endorses wickedness and evil
• Is arrogant, self-involved, and self-promoting
• Believes themself better than another person
• Speaks in ways that are crooked or circuitous
• Is disruptive, dangerous, and destabilizing
