I-80 in Placer County closed overnight due to 12 vehicle crash

Описание: I-80 in Placer County was shut down for hours after a major car pile-up involving 10 vehicles and two big rigs.

The road reopened around 7:30 a.m. this morning, according to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).

This was after California Highway Patrol and the Caltrans hazmat team were able to clear the lanes.

According to traffic crews, the crash happened Monday July 20, around 2:30 p.m. This was 2.1 miles east of Baxter on Westbound I-80.

According to our partner KCRA in Sacramento, there were at least two people with major injuries and multiple others with minor injuries.

The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
