There's No Rainbow After Platform as a Product!

Описание: Have you managed to create a new “platform as a product” in your organization? Do you do actual discovery with your internal users? Do you communicate clearly both improvements and failures of the platform? Are you tracking and sharing metrics and stories on adoption, user satisfaction, and cognitive load reduction? As the approach sticks, however, more and more organizations are struggling to scale the platform as a product approach (or the “platform engineering model” if that tickles your fancy) effectively:

🔥Overly centralized platforms that end up unwittingly blocking customers
🔥Overly distributed platforms that are hard to find and leverage at scale
🔥Insufficient advisory/enabling work taking place
🔥Large monolithic platform teams/services
🔥Lack of visibility on platform ROI

Unfortunately, there’s no other way around it: we need to continuously adapt and figure out what are the next bottlenecks and organizational challenges to fast flow, in particular as they relate to the use of internal platforms. Oh yes, and there’s that AI thing we need to leverage as well.
