How does Sheila Jackson Lee claim she is not against the Second Amendment and then, in the same breath, say the Second Amendment is about the militia?

In the Heller decision, the Supreme Court said, " The Second Amendment protects an individual right to possess a firearm unconnected with service in a militia, and to use that arm for traditionally lawful purposes, such as self-defense within the home."

This militia argument is idiotic.

It's common knowledge the founding fathers didn't trust the government; they just fought a war against one.

Why would they then write an amendment giving power to the government to keep and bear arms?

If the U.S. government became tyrannical, "the people" would have to go to the same tyrannical government and ask for guns so that they could fight back against the same tyrannical government?

What?

That's like expecting a robber to give you a gun so you can use it to protect yourself against him.

Sheila Jackson Lee is definitely against the Second Amendment.

The MILITIA argument she made is that people don't have an individual right to keep and bear arms, which is the entire foundation of the 2nd Amendment.

The people come with their personal guns to form the militia to fight off a tyrannical government, foreign or domestic.

How will the people fight off a domestic tyranical government when they have to ask that same government for the guns they need to fight them with?

This isn't saving lives; it's about taking the most effective firearm that could be used by the people to defend themselves from not only criminals but an overreaching government.

Every argument they make for the AR15 can be made about any gun.

Do you think they'll stop at AR15s?

They don't have any incentive to stop.

They'll always have their bodyguards and government security, and you'll have nothing.
