Since Ayako's debut in 1986, she has been featured in numerous numbers of magazines (covers included) and commercial advertisements. At first, she didn't think of becoming an actress but a movie producer noticed her and offered her a role. That's how she expanded her already successful modeling career to film acting.
As a model, Ayako moved to Paris in 1991. She was selected as one of the top models from Japan to find international success. She walked the runways for fashion powerhouses such as CHANEL and Yves Saint Laurent, etc. She was loved by the industry in Europe. Ayako can speak French fluently and she loved living in Paris.
Now Ayako is back in Japan; she successfully expanded her career into acting. As an actress, she is doing well, and gaining popularity. She has been receiving many different roles in films and TV dramas as well as on-stage plays, which require different skills as an actress.
