Deadbeard is, by far, the most powerful enemy in the game stat-wise. His absolutely massive PP pool means he'll be pelting you with powerful spells for quite a while, and even when it starts to deplete, you still have to deal with him buffing his attack and shredding upwards of 600 health a turn.

About the battle:

I thought this fight would be borderline impossible for sure. Turns out, though, that the final bosses are waaaaay more difficult because of instant death attacks and status ailments. Hooray.

Deadbeard's lowest resistance is Venus, so Isaac has a bit of an advantage here. I went with Cybele over Judgment because I felt like it. Using Flint, Sap, Bane, and Ground/Granite and then summoning Judgment is a safe enough strategy, but it felt like I'd done that so many times already so I wanted to switch things up. Made the fight a tiny bit longer, too, which made PP management an exciting factor to keep in mind. Really came down to the wire, this one.

I'm having trouble with the final boss. I beat Saturos and Menardi on my first try since Menardi's Death Scythe never triggered instant death. I did that fight on level 43, initially. However, my stats were too low to handle the Fusion Dragon fight that comes immediately afterwards. It inflicted both Haunt and Deadly Poison on me, and after I'd summoned Ramses, I took a crapload of damage from the combined efforts of those two ailments and then died when the boss attacked me.

Alright. No big deal. That stuff happens. I leveled up to 50 (and did this fight before trying again) and now... I can't get past Saturos and Menardi. Death Scythe, due to the way save states work, will ALWAYS trigger instant death. For example: Say Menardi uses Death Scythe on turn 4. It triggers instant death and I lose. Load state. The fight starts again. Menardi uses Death Scythe on turn 4 again. It triggers instant death. Logical, since the game is still in the exact same state as the previous attempt. I didn't reset, the game didn't "reroll" her actions, it just went back in time. Now, I can prevent her from using it on turn 4 by using Ground on her. I can then go through the fight over and over and over again until I know exactly when she'll use it (provided it stays the same, player actions in-battle might change things) and make sure to use Ground on those turns until she dies and I can focus entirely on Saturos.

Or... I'll just upload the successful take I've already got. Which was done at 7 levels lower. This artificial difficulty is really getting to me .-. Why is this even an issue? Because the final two bosses are fought back-to-back. After beating S&M, there's a cutscene, and then you fight Fusion Dragon. I would LIKE to do both of these fights back-to-back as well to make it as close to the scenario as it would've been on an actual cartridge as possible... but if it's gonna continue like this then I dunno if that's an option I want to consider. I leave it up to you. If you prefer the back-to-back approach over the method I'm thinking of using (doing S&M with a full party, then doing Fusion Dragon solo) then please let me know. I'm honestly at a loss.
