In recognition of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, in this webinar, we welcome team members of the Indigenous art and storytelling in virtual reality (VR) project. This innovative project is a collaboration between University of British Columbia’s IDEA Lab and the Museum of Anthropology with Indigenous partners.
In this webinar, members of the project team and Lynn Jackson, an Indigenous lived experience partner, share:
How immersive VR storytelling media can connect Indigenous people living with dementia to their culture and reduce stress during hospital visits.
Why collaborating with Indigenous partners and health-care professionals is key to making health-care technology more inclusive and culturally responsive.
How this B.C.-based research project is preserving Indigenous cultural traditions of storytelling, visual arts and intergenerational knowledge sharing through VR technology.
