This is a short video detailing the auction process at Copart with particular reference to 2016 Mercedes AMG GT which recently came up for sale. These cars are still relatively rare and do not come up for sale at salvage auctions very often, and it was interesting to see how the bidding progressed on this car.
If you know the VIN number you can use the excellent mbdecoder.com site to find out what options a car has: https://www.mbdecoder.com/decode/WMX1.... As a Copart member (annual cost £100) you will have access to a full vehicle report giving the VIN number, reg plate and number of owners etc.
UPDATE: This car was resubmitted for auction with a 'buy it now' price of £30,000 . The 2nd time round, the bidding reached £28,000 - still not quite reaching the reserve.
At the time of posting this video, there are also a couple of other interesting R107‘s for sale at Copart. This video details just a few of the things you should be looking for if you ever contemplate buying a classic Mercedes at a Copart salvage auction.
