The walk is a four-beat gait. The horse moves its left hind leg, left front leg, right hind leg, and right front leg in a regular 1-2-3-4 rhythm, leaving two or three hooves on the ground at all times.

Il passo è un'andatura a quattro tempi. Il cavallo muove la gamba posteriore sinistra, l'anteriore sinistra, la posteriore destra, l'anteriore destra in un ritmo regolare di 1-2-3-4, lasciando in ogni momento due o tre zoccoli sul terreno.
