Is it possible generate no waste in a country where most people don’t even recycle? And how do you promote “reduce, reuse, recycle” in a society that promotes endless consumption?
After decades of breakneck economic growth, China is beginning to mandate recycling in some cities, and many people are becoming aware of their trash for the first time.
We spoke to a young zero-waste activist, a waste disposal worker, and a young designer about the challenges of going green in in China.
