Our protagonist is called Jianghu Xia, a 16-year-old boy from Guizhou province, one of the most impoverished areas in China. People there usually move to the coastal provinces to do labour work, and Jianghu’s parents are one of those.
Before Grade Six, Jianghu lives with his family in an industrialized town in Zhejiang province, where both his dad and mom worked as a polish worker in an artificial crystal factory. Soon, Jianghu moved back to his hometown in Guizhou and lived along with his grandmother. He becomes the left-over one while his parents still stay in Zhejiang province with his sister. However, all the childhood memory about Zhejiang doesn’t eliminate from Jianghu’s head that he treats Zhejiang as his second hometown.
At the beginning of 2019’s summer, Jianghu graduated from junior high school. Haven’t seen his parents for years, he plans to visit their place in Zhejiang. While all the connection to Zhejiang stopped at the day he moves back, Jianghu still believes in himself in the sense that he is familiar with everything there. As such, he never knows that this trip would be a new start for him as he is turning to 16…
