Mawa Gujiya Recipe in an Air fryer by Chef #RanveerBrar
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Preheat time: 10 minutes at 170°c
Cooking time: 10-12 minutes at 170°c
Serves: 2-4
Ingredients
For Roasting Nuts
2 tsp Ghee
⅓ cup Semolina
8-10 Almonds, chopped
8-10 Cashew Nuts, chopped
For Filling
1 cup Mawa
Roasted Nuts
½ tbsp Cardamom powder
1 cup Powdered Sugar
For Dough
2 cup Refined flour
A pinch of salt
1 tsp Sugar
3 heaped tbsp Ghee
1 tbsp Rose water
Chilled water as required
Ghee (optional & for brushing)
For Garnish
Powdered sugar
Rose petals
Silver varak
Process
For Roasting Nuts
In a pan, heat ghee, add semolina and roast it until light brown on medium flame.
Add almonds, cashew nuts and roast it for 2-3 minutes until golden in color.
Transfer it to a tray and keep it aside to cool at room temperature.
For Filling
In the same pan, add mawa and cook on medium flame until golden in color.
Add roasted nuts and cook it for 4-5 minutes until golden brown.
Transfer it to a tray and keep it aside to cool at room temperature.
Add cardamom powder, powdered sugar and mix well. Keep it aside for further use.
For Dough
In a parat, add refined flour, a pinch of salt, sugar, ghee, rose water and water as required.
Knead it into a semi soft dough and cover it with a damp cloth.
Keep it aside to rest for 10-15 minutes.
For Gujiya
Preheat the philips airfryer for 10 minutes at 170°c
Take a lemon size dough, roll out into a thick round sheet and place it into the gujiya mold.
Apply water on the edges, place a spoon full of filling and seal with the help of mold. Give it a desired design on the edges.
Place the prepared gujiyas into the airfryer, spray water to avoid dryness and cook for 6 minutes at 170°c.
Apply a generous amount of ghee and cook it further for 6-8 minutes at 170°c until golden in color.
Transfer it to a serving dish, garnish it with powdered sugar, rose petals and silver varak.
Serve.
