Описание: Christopher Pelkey was shot and killed on 11/13/2021 by Gabriel Horcasitas in a road rage altercation in Chandler, Arizona. After 3.5 years and two trials, the shooter was convicted of manslaughter, plus 1 count of endangerment to others. During the sentencing of the shooter on 5/1/25, 49 impact statements were provided by friends and family, but Chris was able to make his own impact statement to the judge — a court first. His sister Stacey Wales, her husband Tim Wales, and their friend Scott Yentzer made a digital AI likeness of Chris with a script written by his sister, images compiled from those available of Chris, and used an audio file from a prerecorded interview Chris did months before he died. These digital assets and script were fed into multiple AI tools to help create a digital version of Chris, polished by hours of painstaking editing and manual refinement. The end result impacted Judge Lang in Maricopa County Superior Court, who handed down the maximum sentence of 10.5 years to Gabriel Horcasitas.
