Fatehpur Sikri, located 37 km from Agra in Uttar Pradesh, is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a 16th-century fortified city built by Mughal Emperor Akbar. Established as the Mughal capital (1571–1585), this well-preserved "ghost city" blends Persian, Hindu, and Islamic architecture in red sandstone, featuring the massive Buland Darwaza, Jama Masjid, and Tomb of Salim Chishti.
