However, thanks to the hard work and dedication of officials, experienced gardeners, and laborers from the floriculture department, the sowing of Holland bulbs continues at full speed at Asia’s largest tulip garden, located in the foothills of the Zabarwan mountains. Currently, the entire Kashmir valley, including Srinagar city, is experiencing freezing temperatures and heavy snowfall, which has impacted daily life. The tulip garden is covered in a thick blanket of snow, prompting the floriculture department's staff to intensify efforts to complete the sowing process on time. Sowing bulbs under these harsh conditions is both challenging and a unique experience for everyone involved. While authorities had already taken precautionary measures by covering much of the land, the sudden snowfall and extreme cold have made the task even more difficult. As a result, contractors, gardeners, and laborers are working tirelessly to ensure the timely completion of the sowing operations. Given the unfavorable weather and the likelihood of more snowfall in the coming days, the floriculture department is making the most of the brief periods of milder weather to complete the bulb sowing. This will help ensure the garden is ready for this year’s tulip show, scheduled to begin in mid-March 2025.
