From snow-covered ALPINE MOUNTAIN PASSES to the deep blue waters of the ADRIATIC SEA, this journey captures everything that makes long-distance motorcycle touring in Europe so addictive. The route takes in some of the best motorcycle roads in Europe, including legendary Alpine passes, sweeping mountain roads, and breath taking coastal stretches.
After crossing the Alps, the ride heads south following the Adriatic coast to Split in Croatia, then taking an overnight ferry to Italy. The route cuts inland through the heart of TUSCANY, where rolling hills, historic towns, and perfect riding roads define classic Italian motorcycle touring. Highlights include arriving in BOLOGNA, a pilgrimage destination for motorcyclists, with a visit to the ICONIC DUCATI MUSEUM — a must-see for any fan of Italian motorcycles. By pure chance, the journey also led to a FREE OUTDOOR CLASSICAL CONCERT one of those unexpected travel moments that makes adventure motorcycling so special.
The return journey takes the long way home, riding the legendary ROUTE DES GRANDES ALPES, one of the most famous motorcycle routes in the world, before drifting west onto quiet French D-roads and up through Champagne country. Endless curves, open landscapes, and relaxed rural riding lead to the final leg back to the UK via the tunnel.
