What We’re Cooking Today:
Today, we’re making Yeralma Yumorta, a traditional Turkish dish with a Persian twist — a delightful mix of potatoes and eggs, cooked slowly in a traditional clay pot. The potatoes are baked on stones, just like in ancient times, giving them a unique flavor, while the eggs come straight from our chickens.

We also bake fresh homemade bread in a clay oven (Tandoor), and pair it with local butter and fresh herbs from the garden. We carefully prepare everything by hand: from kneading dough to churning fresh butter in our grandmother’s ancient pottery vessel.

The beautiful simplicity of rural life is reflected in each step — from gathering fresh vegetables, feeding the chickens, to milking cows and tending to the garden.

In the midst of this tranquil morning, we also clean the barn, tend to the sheep, and plant fresh seeds in the garden to grow more vegetables for the future. It’s a peaceful, hardworking day in the life of a rural family.
