McBride Lake is very hard to hike to because it requires crossing Slough Creek. Slough Creek is more like a river during all warm months of the year. I have never visited McBride Lake when the grass is green. At one point on this hike I turned around to see if there was anything behind me and I saw a grizzly coming out of the trees. I just passed through that spot about 5 minutes ago.
