Cholistan Desert Punjab || The Unseen beauty of Pakistan ||

Описание: In the far south of Punjab, Cholistan (locally called Rohi) is the biggest desert in Pakistan, spanning over 25,000 sq. kms area. It has in south the Thar Desert in Sindh, and east the India's Rajisthan Desert. About 1000 years ago, the desert was a fertile plain watered by the Ghaggar River (now called Hakra in Pakistan).
Right in the middle of the desert stands the impressive Derawar Fort, this originally was the ancestral home of Amir of Bahawalpur.
Cholistan attracts the tourists in many ways: it has vast tracts of beautiful sand, it has many other historic forts and buildings, the life of locals is worth cherishing, annual jeep rallies and fairs held at shrines.
