Paul O'Sullivan's former assistant, Sarah Jane Trent, has been under intense grilling by Ad Hoc Committee members about her role in conducting investigations at General Khomotso Phahlane's house, situated in the upscale Sable Hills Waterfront Estate, north-east of Pretoria. She's denied having impersonated an IPID official in an investigation conducted alongside O'Sullivan and IPID officers. ANC Member of Parliament, Xola Nqola, suggested that Trent and O'Sullivan presented themseves as IPID investigators, potentially contravening the law. IPID at the time was conducting an investigation into how Phahlane managed to afford the house, which he had built in 2011 and 2012.
