CORRECTIONS
FACT #1
The 1872 courthouse was once reported in the Times-Mail newspaper, as having caught on fire, and that's why the 1930 courthouse was built. However, there is no contemporary record of that fire. The courthouse was replaced because more space was needed. Curiously, the North wall of the 1872 courthouse was saved, and the new 1930 courthouse was built around it.
FACT #8
Bobbie Dean Turpen (not Roy Dale Turpen) was born Oct 22, 1935 at home and Billie Gene Turpen born Oct 23, 1935 at Dunn Hospital in Bedford, 19 hours later. A first for twin births on different days in different Townships. The boys were born to Roy Turpen and Lois Marie (Hubbard) Turpen.
