Описание: Whew. This was an undertaking. Get ready for a massive drop in quality once the game starts.

In case you don't know, you need a Digital Video Cart for this game to work. You need it for a lot of desirable games on the platform, including what's coming next. Emulating this is possible and you CAN play it through, but the sound was all janked and I couldn't tell you if it's fixable. My CD-I is definitely showing the signs of a capacitor gone bad, so I had to smash things together. You get a recorded intro from source, then a not so great looking composite pull in gameplay. It might be jarring, but that's what we're dealing with here and we likely will be doing the same for the next game.

The game itself is probably one of the most dynamic and fun of all the CD-I games, but do not let that convince you that the game is good. It's not. Despite a few things I was surprised to see...like grab locks, multiple special moves, a very decent presentation, some exciting sound, and fast gameplay....it fails in some pretty terrible ways. Doing multiple things at once is not this game's strength. Even if you're playing with the best possible controls, you're going to run into issues where the game does not want to turn and attack or move and attack. It's also infuriatingly cheap and you'll constantly get swatted out of the air. The enemies also have this "run a circle around you at all times" approach and I swear the devs knew that was going to play havoc with the controls. The enemies have longer reach and instant reflexes. They also know how you can't dodge projectiles easily.

So yes...it's deserved for being one of the best titles on the system. But that is not saying much and it really highlights just how bad their controls were at the best of times. And I'm positive this WAS the best of conditions for the CD-I.

Side note, is that the Crazy Taxi announcer? A lot of these voices sound familiar.
