Pamudya was composed by the late Ki Nartosabdho, one of the most renowned composers and musicians of the last 50 years. Nartosabdho is well known for his distinctive popular vocal melodies. His compositions are regularly heard at weddings and *wayang kulit*, or shadow puppet performances. Aside from his own compositions, Nartosabdho has arranged new vocal melodies for many traditional works from the Javanese gamelan repertoire.
