A third of young people know someone with dementia. This might be a grandparent, aunt, uncle or family friend. For some people, it may be their parent. Learning about dementia can make it easier for young people to cope and easier for their peers to support them.

Whether they know someone with dementia or not, increasing young people's understanding will build their confidence in communicating with people living with dementia, and help to reduce stigma - now and as they approach adulthood.
