"Just days after the death of Valentino Garavani in Italy, Alessandro Michele brought Valentino back to Paris couture with a show that felt like a disco fever dream and a bit of a provocation. Guests including Elton John were led into darkness facing circular cubicles with small windows. Inside, models moved in stark white cells, almost like a futuristic peep show. The vibe was the late 1970s drama. Sheen, leg of mutton sleeves with headwear exploding in sequins and gems and stacked gold collars that sometimes even flirted with circus glamor. But the soundtrack kept a pervading menace, dogs barking over the sanitised runway. It was bold, erotic and uneasy. Couture staged a spectacle."

On Wednesday, just days after the death of Valentino Garavani in Italy, Alessandro Michele brought Valentino back to Paris couture with a show that felt like a disco fever dream and a bit of a provocation.

Guests were led into darkness facing circular cubicles with small windows. Inside, models moved in stark white cells, almost like a futuristic peep show.
