Описание: The Supremes carried on another seven years after the departure of Diana Ross. They were first out of the gate with a major hit " Up The Ladder To The Roof" peaking at #10 while Diana's "Reach Out And Touch Somebody's Hand" petered out at #20. Diana had a very erratic chart history, peaking at number one with one single and then subsequent follow ups failing to make the top 10. The Supremes kept on keeping on, being the institution that they were and had a revolving lead singer throughout the rest of their career. The final incarnation had original founding member Mary Wilson, Scherrie Payne (1974-1977 and younger sister of Freda Payne) and Susaye Greene (1976-1977) vocalizing on their final two albums "High Energy" and "Mary, Scherrie & Susaye" from which the club single "You're My Driving Wheel" was culled. So popular was that single that it peaked at #5 on the disco charts in 1976. The LP was highly regarded by DJ's and was considered to be an essential LP for their disco collection by Vince Aletti, the authority on disco in the early days. Thanks to Motown releasing more songs from their vaults,I was able to dig up an alternate version of "Driving Wheel" which breathed a little more, and lent itself to being extended......I hope you like this version....that's Scherrie on lead vocals here.
