From this incident, we learn important lessons about patience, forgiveness and good character.
When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was preaching Islam in Mecca, many people used to bother him. An old woman used to throw thorns or rubbish in his path every day, causing him pain. But the Prophet never got angry or took revenge.
One day he saw that the old woman was not throwing anything. Noticing this, he went to her house and found that she was sick. The Prophet kindly inquired about her. The old woman was surprised, because the one she had been bothering for so long had come to visit her today! She was impressed by this generosity and accepted Islam.
Lesson:
✔ Patience and good behavior can win people's hearts.
✔ Kindness and compassion should be practiced without taking revenge.
✔ Islam is not only advice, but people can also be invited through good character.
