Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in the South African city of Johannesburg on August 22 to take part in the 15th BRICS Summit. While addressing the BRICS Summit in Johannesburg, President Cyril Ramphosa lauded India’s love for big cats and pledged to Prime Minister Narendra Modi that if he wants more cheetahs he can have them as he is in the home of cheetahs. Cheetahs were translocated to India as a part of an effort to revive extinction of black cats in India. Out of 20 cheetahs brought from South Africa last year, 9 have died in less than a year. According to an MoU, South Africa will translocate 12 cheetahs annually for the next 10 years
