Qigong to Align with Autumn

Описание: An invigorating medical qigong routine, to align with autumn and boost the lungs and immune system.

KNOCKING ON THE GATE OF LIFE
Energising and relieving, this gentle warmup eases out the spine and joints, and brings a flash of energy to the whole system.
Relax so that the turn of the waist sends the arms out to the sides, and allow loose fists to knock gently on the lower back and belly, and on the lung points on the sides of the shoulders.

HOLD THE THUMB AND SHAKE
Holding the thumb activates the lung meridian, which ends at the thumb.
Inhale and bring your arms up overhead, grasping one thumb with the other hand and squeezing gently.
Then exhale and relax, letting the hands fall and gently shaking tension out from the whole body. Pay special attention to releasing the shoulders and arms, all the way down to the ends of the fingers.

SWINGING ARMS
This medical qigong exercise is used in Chinese hospitals to combat a wide range of disorders. It connects the whole body up and encourages the free flow of chi through all the meridians.
It’s mostly about how it feels – relaxed muscles, and a gentle bounce that goes through every joint. The knees rise and fall as the hands lift and lower, so there’s a double bounce, which helps to drive the swing of the arms.
Inhale as the arms rise up and forward and exhale as they drop down and behind.

SPINAL BREATHING
Opening the lungs and spine. Inhale as you draw the shoulderblades together and open the chest, and exhale as you bring the elbows forward and sink the chest. Don’t forget to give a couple of breaths to each side, opening the ribcage and gently twisting the spine.

LARGE INTESTINE CLEANSE
Another medical qigong exercise. Lead with the little finger and draw figure eights in front of the body. Go as fast or as slowly as you wish – you’re aiming for flowing gentle movement that communicates itself through the body

LUNG CLEANSE
Imagine your hands are polishing the inside of a metal sphere. Inhale as they rise and exhale as they fall.

CIRCULATING THE CHI THROUGH THE SIDE CHANNELS
Imagine you are lifting chi from the earth and bringing it up the sides of the body to the shoulder, then leading it gently downwards again and back into the earth.
As one hand rises the other falls, so that you are alternating yin and yang on either side. You may even feel this gentle pulsing of chi communicate itself through your whole system.

TRIPLE WARMER HUG
A wonderful way to rebalance the immune system by boosting the gentle nurturing energy of the spleen and connecting it to the triple warmer.
Place one hand over the spleen point on the side of the ribcage, about where the bra line would be for a woman.
Then gently hold the triple warmer point, above the elbow of the other arm.
Relax and breathe deeply, letting the energies connect.

PULLING DOWN THE HEAVENS
Reaching up to the sky and gathering heavenly energy, then bringing it showering down through every cell of the body and into the earth.


COMPLETION
One hand over the other on the belly, allowing your body to absorb the energy you’ve generated in your practice.
