New Delhi: Army Chief General Bipin Rawat, on Thursday, said that leadership is not about leading people in an inappropriate direction. Commenting on the violence during anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) rallies across the country, Rawat said that 'this is not leadership'.
"Leaders are not those who lead people in an inappropriate direction. As we are witnessing in a large number of universities and colleges, students the way they are leading masses&crowds to carry out arson&violence in cities and towns. This is not leadership," Rawat said. His comments come at a time when massive protests have rocked university campuses and cities across the country.
