Was Jesus Perfect? CNN Don Lemon Refuted [Catholic Response]

Описание: Was Jesus perfect and sinless? Recently on CNN news anchor Don Lemon, denied the divinity of Jesus Christ saying: “Here’s the thing: Jesus Christ, (if that’s who you believe in)—Jesus Christ, admittedly, was not perfect when he was here on this earth.”

This is not teaching of the Catholic Church and or anyone who claims to be an orthodox bible believing Christian. It is surprising that Don Lemon of CNN who has a national platform, would not know one of the core teachings of Christianity

Equal trouble, is Chris Cuomo, who is supposed to be Catholic, who sits and offers no correction. Maybe Chris doesn’t know that himself. This is the lesson, when we do know the truth, and the truth is misrepresented about Jesus, we have an obligation to correct error by speaking the truth. To stay silence in the face of public error like this, would be the sin of omission.

1 - What does the bible say about Jesus:

1 John 3:5
And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin.

2 - What did Jesus say about Himself

John 15:9: So Jesus said to them, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of His own accord, but only what He sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, that the Son does likewise.” 

When Jesus speaks about his own conduct of living, He leaves not room for improvement.

3 - What was Jesus silent about

Jesus never one mentioned his need of repentance. He never talks a personal imperfection. He never mentions his his need of mercy. Jesus silence about his own personal imperfections, is evidence that he believe he had none.

And this is the claim of the Catholic Church since the beginning, that Jesus was perfect, that He was sinless, that He is divine. Who was Jesus? From the Catechism par 467:

“Following the holy Fathers, we unanimously teach and confess one and the same Son, our Lord Jesus Christ: the same perfect in divinity and perfect in humanity” (CCC 467)
