Elencada no Álbum "Going Deaf For a Living", de 1980, "Tanto Tempo" narra a profunda decepção do protagonista em relação à pessoa amada... Ludibriado, desprezado e descartado, ele consciencializa, finalmente, que todo o seu investimento afetivo, sua idealização, todos os seus projetos e sonhos com aquela mulher foram em vão...
A amargura lancinante é cantarolada em crescendo, adensa-se e agudiza-se à medida que a melodia transcorre, ampliando também, a carga emocional e dramática do ouvinte...
Destarte, teremos aqui um episódio auto-biográfico de alguém da Banda, de alguém que eles conheceram ou tomaram conhecimento, enfim, de algo bem real e concreto que "acontece com as melhores famílias"...
Nem tudo é mau, diria... Só o sofrimento, a dor, a angústia e a fissura, por paradoxal que possa parecer, são capazes de produzir e gerar as mais belas expressões artísticas - o que é a Arte, enfim, senão um protesto contra o impiedoso e pungente rigor da Vida?...
A energia, o "vórtice criativo" alimenta-se, ganha substância, substrato e volume, a mor das vezes, a partir da incompletude, do desprazer e do desamparo... Tal como a natureza esplendorosa, como a conhecemos, se originou a partir do caos, é de "estados caóticos", que a criatividade se faz premente. Para superar o desequilíbrio o Homem recorre à energia sublimada - quanto maior a entropia (unidade de medida da energia não disponível para a realização de algo concreto - "supremo alimento do caos"), mais potencial criativo se gera e fica à disposição...
Face ao exposto, quando confrontados com a indagação filosófica sobre: o que é a "Verdade"?... O supra dissertado será sempre, EM TESE, uma consistente e encorpada resposta...
Se poderá ser considerada uma "verdade científica" não o sei... "Verdade subjetiva e experiencial", sem dúvida - este meu testemunho, aqui partilhado, é uma confissão; minha existência, sobrevivência e superação, uma inelutável prova...
Em profundo solilóquio, dedico este trabalho a todos os meus afetos..., mas sobretudo, aos meus ultrajadores, aos apáticos e aos pusilânimes...
