I asked my father if he had the opportunity to speak with all the survivors, what would he say?

Robert and I realized the power of storytelling by watching his healing process through the making of this podcast. We then asked ourselves, how many more Khmer Rouge survivors can we heal with the time we have left?

Last year when I first started launching episodes, I got a DM from a listener who suggested that we create something for the refugees to listen to, in Khmer. Something specifically created for Cambodian refugees, in their native tongue that can start the conversation of healing. Children of refugees can only do so much in encouraging the parents, but it is entirely different when encouragement comes from someone who completely understands the depth of pain and trauma they endured. Someone like Robert. Someone who lived it WITH them.

Someone like… a fellow refugee.
