The future of Premier Lamberto Dini's day-old government hung in
the balance on Wednesday, (18/1) as a key group of parliamentary
deputies debated whether to support the coalition of technocrats.
Dini held a late morning meeting with outgoing premier Silvio
Berlusconi, who on Tuesday said his conservative coalition would
not support the new government.
