Footage from Sunday evening shows flames and smoke rising after a drone attack targeting the US base at Erbil Airport in Iraq’s Kurdistan Region. The group Saraya Awliya al-Dam claimed responsibility, calling it retribution for the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and in support of the Islamic Republic of Iran. This attack follows coordinated strikes by the US and Israel on Iranian military targets, while Iran retaliated with missile and drone strikes against Israel and several US bases in the Gulf.
